The problem

WeTransfer is a company known for supporting creatives and their ideas. They noticed that many creatives still lack sufficient support in their creative process. To address this, WeTransfer introduced the following design challenge:

identify the next opportunity for WeTransfer to support creatives in their work with clients through a creative productivity product?
The solution

With my team, I set out to find a solution to this challenge. Before we could begin, we needed to narrow down the target group of creatives. We quickly realized there was one group that hadn’t received much support from WeTransfer yet: young professional photographers. Our goal was to provide them with a tool that would make photo selection easier for both the photographers and their clients.

Research results

on the left are two stakeholder maps: the red one focuses on WeTransfer’s stakeholders, while the blue highlights its competitors.

this analysis looks at what makes existing programs for the target audience effective and successful.

the user journey shows the process and challenges faced by photographers when working with clients.

Design process

with the new flow made clear in the flowchart, we fixed some of the problems we found in the user journey. This makes the process simpler and easier for both photographers and their clients.

Result: Picture

me and my team developed Picture, a tool designed for photographers and their clients.

✧ everything happens within one tool, so there’s no need for endless back-and-forth emails, saving time for both the photographer and their client.

 

✧ once the client has made their decisions, the collection is sent back to the photographer. From there, the photographer can finalize the project by delivering the high-quality photos and completing the payment process.

✧ after the photographer uploads all the photos, the client can easily go through them and mark which ones they like or don’t like. This makes the selection process simple and clear.

✧ at the end, the client gets an overview of all their choices. This helps them feel confident about their final selection.
